CHERRIES are one of three Championship clubs in a "last-gasp race" to sign Swansea City forward Jamie Paterson, according to Football Insider.

Fellow promotion chasers Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers are also being linked, with the report claiming QPR have already seen bids rejected for the 30-year-old in this transfer window.

Paterson, a former teammate of Cherries captain Lloyd Kelly during the pair's time at Bristol City, is reportedly "keen on a move away" from the Swans today.

He has been training with the club's under-23s in recent weeks due to uncertainty surrounding his future.

That comes having been one of Swansea's top performers in the first half of the season, providing eight goals and four assists in 22 Championship appearances.

But Paterson has not featured since Russell Martin's Swans lost 4-1 to Nottingham Forest on December 11.

Paterson played the full 90 minutes of Swansea's 4-0 loss at Cherries earlier this season.
