SCOTT Parker admitted it “amazes” him to see transfer dealings go right to the wire on deadline day but added: “Everyone is holding cards at that moment.”
The Cherries boss has already hinted the Dorset club’s activity in the January market could go to the final hours, with the window set to close at 11pm tonight.
Deadline day has become a staple of the football calendar in recent years, with fans from across the country on tenterhooks to see their sides’ recruitment unfold.
“People are having days off work now to watch it aren’t they? That’s what we’ve got to! As mad as it sounds,” Parker said when asked about the day as a whole.
“It’s become that really. You guys (the media) have probably made it that in terms of it seems like that’s the way it is.
“It amazes me to think that a window is open for four weeks and it seems that the last 24 hours is where everyone then wants to do deals.
“But I get that, everyone is holding cards at that moment and they are trying to get the best deal. I do understand that.
“I am sure come Monday it will be entertaining for you guys as always and hopefully we can get some over the line.”
