CHERRIES have "contacted" Liverpool regarding a possible loan deal for Neco Williams, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Williams, 20, has struggled for game-time with the Reds this season. He has made eight appearances, but only one of those has come in the Premier League.

The Wales international was heavily linked with a loan move away from Liverpool last January, with Southampton strongly linked, but the Reds wanted to keep hold of the youngster.

Full-back Williams has been away on a mid-season break in Dubai, but the Liverpool Echo claims he has cut short that trip to discuss potential transfer options ahead of deadline day.

A deal with Cherries until the end of the season has been mooted.

Wrexham-born Williams has 17 senior Wales caps, scoring twice, and was part of the Euro 2020 squad alongside Cherries duo Chris Mepham and David Brooks.

He debuted for Liverpool in October 2019 and has now made 33 appearances for the first team.

Cherries already have two full-backs on loan at the club in Ethan Laird and Leif Davis, while winger Morgan Rogers is also at the club on loan from Manchester City.
