BLACKBURN Rovers are "plotting a late move" for Peterborough United forward Siriki Dembele, according to a report by Football Insider.

Dembele has been the subject of interest from Cherries this month and was not involved as Posh lost to Sheffield United on Saturday.

As reported by the Peterborough Telegraph, Posh director of football Barry Fry said: “We had a bid from Bournemouth which we turned down immediately and the day after that we had another bid which we also rejected.

"Birmingham got much closer with their offer to what we want, but when I told Siriki about it he turned his nose up.

“He probably prefers Bournemouth, but there’s no way he’s going there for what they’ve offered."

But now another Championship club could open up as an option to the 25-year-old.

Football Insider claim Blackburn have "enquired" about Dembele ahead of Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.

Any move for Dembele from Peterborough may have to happen today, with Fry insisting: "There is no way we will sell him on transfer deadline day.

“Because that would give us no time to sign a replacement.”

Dembele, formerly of Grimsby Town, has scored five goals in 25 appearances this season.
