CHERRIES have been sent into a frantic late search for a goalkeeper, after Orjan Nyland suffered an injury.

The Norway international is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a calf problem, which could see him miss up to two months of action.

Nyland was not involved as Cherries won 1-0 at Barnsley.

Mark Travers kept his place in goal, with youngster Will Dennis taking the spot on the bench. Teenager Cameron Plain acted as the third goalkeeper on the day.

And given neither Dennis nor Plain have made their Football League debuts yet, Parker admits the club will have to go into the transfer market to find a replacement for Nyland, ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

Asked why Nyland was not involved at Oakwell, boss Scott Parker told BBC Radio Solent: "Injury, he's going to be out for a little while, to be honest with you.

"Probably six to eight weeks.

"He's done his calf two days ago, so it looks a bit of a bad one really, so that's disappointing."

Asked if Nyland's injury would change transfer plans in the next couple of days, Parker added: "Yeah, I think it will.

"I think we're going to have to try and do something there, because obviously for someone to be out that long, with only a young keeper now behind Trav, it's something we're going to probably have to do now."

Nyland has been second choice behind Travers since arriving as a free agent in August. He has made three first-team appearances for Cherries, across three competitions, most recently the 3-1 FA Cup win over Yeovil Town earlier this month.
