BOSS Scott Parker admitted Cherries’ January transfer dealings could go right to the wire and added: “Attacking areas is where we probably need some help.”

Cherries have already added defenders Ethan Laird and James Hill to bolster their defensive ranks this month.

The likes of Kieffer Moore, Tom Lawrence, Joe Rothwell and Siriki Dembele are all reported links to Vitality Stadium.

The January window slams shut at 11pm on Monday.

Asked whether the club were any closer to a third signing of the window, Parker replied: “I’m not sure we are getting closer. We are in and we are trying to do some business.

“We are trying to get some bodies in and trying to get the help we will need a little bit at this moment in time, to try and get us over the line.

“As always, we all realise this is a very difficult window to go and buy players. So yeah, I think like always, we will have to see where we are come late on.

“I think that’s where it’s going to end up being. But we are trying to do all we can to support and help the team at this moment, to get us over the line.

“I think we will know nearer the time when that window shuts. Like most teams to be honest, that frantic 12 hours or 24 hours it always seems to get to.”

Parker’s side fell out of the Championship top-two after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Hull City, with the head coach stressing post-match his side needed to add to their ranks.

Asked for one position he would like to strengthen before the transfer deadline, the boss replied: “I feel attacking areas is where we probably need some help now.

“We have been overly dependant on certain players in our squad and in our team. I think that’s evident.

“I think in that area of the pitch, there is areas where we are light, where we could do with extra support.

“It’s those areas where we are probably looking to try to help us.”

Cherries added the likes of Jamal Lowe and Ryan Christie to their ranks on deadline day during the summer.

The Dorset club head to Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday.
