CHERRIES have reportedly had a bid rejected for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Joe Rothwell.
The Dorset club have been continually linked with the 27-year-old, who has impressed for Tony Mowbray’s side this campaign.
TalkSPORT this morning claimed Cherries tabled a bid of more than £2million for the midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer.
And the Lancashire Telegraph have reported Cherries have not reached the Lancashire club’s valuation of the midfielder.
A former Manchester United youngster, Rothwell joined Blackburn from Oxford United in June 2018.
He has since gone on to play 147 times for the Ewood Park side, scoring 11 goals and registering 15 assists.
Rothwell was reportedly out of Blackburn’s 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Monday due to a back problem.
Sam Gallagher’s strike was enough to earn Blackburn a vital win to propel them into the Championship’s top two, above Cherries.
Cherries boss Scott Parker has repeatedly said the Dorset club remain active in the January market, with the transfer window set to shut on Monday (11pm).
