SCOTT Parker says it was "brilliant" to see his former teammate Tom Huddlestone still playing Championship football, as the midfielder prepares to head down to Vitality Stadium this weekend.

The 35-year-old returned to Hull City in the summer for a second spell, having previously left the club in 2017 to join Derby County.

Prior to his first time on Humberside, Huddlestone was a teammate of Cherries boss Parker when the pair were at Tottenham Hotspur.

Huddlestone joined Spurs in 2005, staying for eight years, which coincided with Parker's spell at the club between 2011 and 2013.

The Nottingham-born ace, who has missed some games through injury, has made seven appearances for Hull this season.

Discussing what the former England international will have brought to Hull, Parker told the Daily Echo: "Big experience and big quality. Tom has huge quality really.

"A passer of the ball, execution of a pass is second to none really.

"I spent a short period of time with Tom at Spurs and saw that first hand really.

"It’s brilliant that he’s still playing and contributing to Hull."

The Tigers face Cherries in the Championship on Saturday (3pm).
