BOSS Scott Parker described as a “massive miss” the loss of Philip Billing from Cherries’ squad and hopes his injury issue is “not too severe”.

Billing was ruled out of Saturday’s 3-2 Championship defeat to Luton after picking up a knock.

The Denmark international has played an integral role in promotion-chasing Cherries’ season, scoring eight times in 23 games in all competitions.

Asked how big a miss the 25-year-old was on Saturday, Parker replied: “A big miss. A massive miss.

“Philip Billing, Dominic Solanke have been a large part of our goals and our attacking threat and we missed him (Billing) definitely.

“Of course we did, because he’s a big part of that really.”

Giving an update to BBC Radio Solent on the severity of Billing’s injury, the head coach added: “I’m hoping not too severe. I am not sure.

“We will have to see how he reacts this weekend and then coming into early next week. Hopefully he comes out the right side of it.

“At this moment, it is touch-and-go. We have got a few in there at the moment but I am hoping maybe we can get him right over the coming days.”
