BOSS Scott Parker revealed Saturday’s trip to Luton was “probably a little too early” for new recruits James Hill and Ethan Laird.

Centre-back Hill arrived for around £1million from Fleetwood last week, while full-back Laird was brought in on loan from Manchester United following a spell at Swansea.

But speaking ahead of the contest with the Hatters, the head coach insisted the duo may need more time to prepare for their Cherries debuts.

Asked for an injury update ahead of his side’s trip Kenilworth Road, Parker replied: “Injury-wise, we are where we’ve been probably over the past 10 days or two weeks.

“James Hill comes in where he is, Ethan as well, it’s probably a little bit too early for both of them.

“They still need time on the grass and still need time with us.

“Adam Smith is progressing in the right way and is pushing on. We will still be some weeks away from seeing him.”

Cherries are also set to be without Junior Stanislas for up to 12 weeks due to a hamstring problem.

“Junior won’t appear. Other than that, we have some knocks and we have some illness but they are the ones that jump out at me,” added Parker.
