PROMOTER Danny Ford insisted experienced duo Danny King and Steve Worrall would be a “massive benefit” to youngster Nathan Ablitt in 2022.

Heat leaders King and Worrall were confirmed in Pirates’ septet on Monday, with teenager Ablitt announced as having signed up as the team’s number seven rider two days later.

They are, at present, the only three chargers confirmed for Poole, who are looking to defend their SGB Championship title as well as the Knockout Cup.

And Ford, who described the signing of Ablitt as a “long-term project” said the youngster would only improve for being in the same pits as experienced duo King and Worrall.

He told the Daily Echo: “There are not two better riders in the league to learn from.

“Not only are they (King and Worrall) both fantastic team men but they are two of the best riders in the league.

“The experience and what techniques they use and everything Nathan can learn from them will be unparalleled.

“That will be very, very important. They both have experience of being captains, so we know they are both team men and they will look to help younger lads. They see the benefit of it.

“Those two guys in particular will be a massive benefit to Nathan.”

Pirates confirmed they were set to make more announcements regarding their one-to-seven next week.
