SCOTT Parker admitted "I take responsibility" for Junior Stanislas being forced off against Cardiff City due to a recurrence of a shoulder injury.

The 32-year-old suffered the problem during Monday's 1-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers and dropped to the bench this evening.

However, with Cherries 2-0 up courtesy of goals from Ryan Christie and Dominic Solanke, Stanislas was called on to replace Jaidon Anthony with around 20 minutes to play.

But less than quarter-of-an-hour later, Stanislas was withdrawn again and replaced by Emiliano Marcondes.

Cherries went on to win 3-0 with a late Jefferson Lerma strike crashing off the bar before hitting goalkeeper Alex Smithies and crossing the line.

Asked why Stanislas was withdrawn, Parker told the Daily Echo: "His shoulder really. I take responsibility a little bit there to be quite honest with you.

"Like I said, against QPR, a big shoulder problem there.

"He had an injection before the game. I take responsibility really because I probably should’ve just let him be, certainly with the way the game was.

"Then obviously he’s come on and at that moment, where the game is and the status of the game, I don’t want to aggravate anything or cause any further damage.

"We’ll have to investigate a little bit more to see exactly how that is."
