CARDIFF City's squad have returned a full set of negative COVID-19 tests and are ready to return to action against Cherries on Thursday night.

The Bluebirds have not played since a 2-2 draw at Birmingham City on December 11, following a coronavirus outbreak at the club.

That saw fixtures against Derby County and Coventry City postponed over the festive period.

However, Steve Morison's side are set to return to the field at Vitality Stadium, having resumed training this week.

"Everyone has now not got COVID," said Morison, as reported by WalesOnline.

"We’ve had our first day of training yesterday for 10 days. We’ll have our second day today.

"We’re just ticking as many boxes as we can to prepare ourselves as best we can for Bournemouth.

"We haven’t had rhythm or routine because we’ve all been at home. Our first day was yesterday. We’re back on the grass now and and back in the building with slightly different measures now.

"We turn up, we train, get our food and go home so it’s slightly different to what it was prior, but the main thing is that everyone is healthy and as fit as they can be at the present moment."

Cherries returned to the top of the Championship table with a 1-0 win over QPR on Monday.

Discussing the challenge posed by Scott Parker's side, Morison added: "The league doesn’t lie.

"They’re at the top because they deserve to be at the top. It was an exciting game to watch (against QPR) but we’ve just got to worry about ourselves."
