MIDFIELDER Jade Bradley has left Portsmouth to join Cherries Women.

Despite Pompey competing one step above Cherries, Bradley has made the switch to join Steve Cuss's side.

The 24-year-old arrives having netted 12 goals in 68 games for Pompey in her four years at the club, captaining the side since August 2020.

Bradley told Cherries' website: “I had a good chat with Steve and he wants to see the club progress. The players have bought in to that and they know what we want as a club.

“Steve knows what we want, as do the backroom staff, so it’s nice for all of us to be aligned with our goals and ambitions.”

She added: “They (Cherries) look like a team that’s frightening and I know from the outside, teams are worried about them.

“From being here, the standard is good, the quality is good and I think it’s just going to progress from now on.”

Cuss said: “Jade is a fantastic addition to our squad. She is a player that we have seen play and tracked on many occasions and we are delighted the opportunity has arisen to bring her into our environment.

“Jade possesses a good passing ability and is a strong midfield player and, along with her leadership skills and experience of higher-level football, we are delighted to welcome Jade to AFC Bournemouth.”
