JAIDON Anthony described Cherries' 4-0 thumping of Swansea City as the "perfect way" to respond following Wednesday night's shock 2-1 defeat to Preston North End.

Scott Parker's charges were beaten for the first time in the Championship this season in midweek, but hit back in style against Russell Martin's Swans.

Dominic Solanke's brace got the ball rolling after the visitors had made a strong start, before two strikes from Anthony in the final half an hour sealed the win for the table-topping Cherries.

"We wanted to react from the disappointing result in the week and this was the perfect way to do it really," said Anthony.

"We knew they were a top side and they’ve had some good results and they’re no mugs.

"The gaffer said we’d struggle at points in the game and we’d just have to get through those points.

"I thought we rode the storm, worked our way into the game and showed what we were about really."

Anthony, who now has four goals for the campaign, headed home after a saved Ryan Christie shot to make the game 3-0, before slotting home a fourth in stoppage time.

Discussing scoring with his head, the 21-year-old said: "No, I don’t think I’ve scored too many (headers)! Not since I was younger anyway.

"So it’s nice to chip in and it’s felt like a long time coming. Today was a good day."
