DYNAMIC Dane Benjamin Basso believes Pirates can overhaul their 10-point deficit when they host Glasgow Tigers, in the second-leg of the SGB Championship play-off final.

The sides are set to do battle at Wimborne Road tomorrow, with the Tigers holding a 50-40 advantage on aggregate, heading into the season finale.

But Basso, who joined Poole mid-season following the departure of Zane Keleher, believes Neil Middleditch’s side can produce what is needed on home shale.

Pirates have already claimed the Championship Knockout Cup this season, having comfortably beaten Edinburgh over two legs last week.

Put to him that a double would be special in his debut British season, Basso said: “It definitely would and I feel like we are really strong at home.

“I don’t think we have been beaten yet at home, so I am pretty confident we will at least give them a big fight.

“I am actually pretty confident also that we will also beat them by 10 points. Time will tell.”

Basso scored six points from five rides at Glasgow in the opening leg.
