CHERRIES boss Scott Parker is among the early list of names linked by bookmakers with the newly-vacated managerial role at Tottenham Hotspur.

Nuno Espirito Santo was today relieved of his duties at the north London club, after a poor run of form.

Having topped the table in August following three wins to start the campaign, Spurs have won just twice since in the subsequent seven matches, losing five times. That included a defeat in the north London derby at Arsenal.

Former Wolves boss Espirito Santo lasted just four months in charge of Tottenham, culminating in a 3-0 home defeat by Manchester United on Saturday.

Ex-Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is the overwhelming favourite for the role, after he left Inter Milan in the summer, listed as heavy odds-on by most bookmakers.

Parker, who has guided Cherries to the longest unbeaten league start in the club's history, spent two seasons playing for Tottenham between 2011 and 2013, before going on to coach in the youth ranks.

He is listed as sixth favourite for the role by SkyBet, available at 16-1.

Cherries legend Eddie Howe, who has been out of work since leaving Vitality Stadium in August 2020, is priced at 14-1.

Ryan Mason (7-1), Paulo Fonseca (8-1) and Brighton's Graham Potter (12-1) are the other names towards the top of the list with bookmakers.
