CHERRIES star Jaidon Anthony recalled an "interesting time" spent as a teammate of A-list celebrity Brooklyn Beckham, whilst in Arsenal's academy.

Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria, is nine months older than Anthony and played alongside him with the Gunners as he looked to follow in his famous father's footsteps by becoming a professional footballer.

Now 22, Beckham did not make a career in football, instead moving into modelling and photography.

Anthony himself also did not make the breakthrough at Arsenal, released and then snapped up by Cherries in 2016. He has now gone on to become a first-team regular this season, scoring twice in his 12 appearances for Scott Parker's side.

Discussing his stint alongside Beckham at Arsenal in an interview with Goal, Anthony said: "I played with him a few times.

"I remember that one time I lent him my shin pads after he forgot his!

"It was an interesting time having him. He was a very nice guy and just wanted to be one of the lads.

"To be fair, we took him in as well. He was a good player; he was a right winger just like his dad. He surprised me with his skills."
