BOSS Scott Parker admits changing his winning XI was a "risk", but backed the decision to freshen up his side at Peterborough.

Following victory at Cardiff City earlier this month, Parker named the same side for Saturday's home clash with Luton Town.

And despite beating the Hatters 2-1, Parker decided to shuffle his pack for Wednesday night's trip to London Road.

Jack Stacey, David Brooks and Morgan Rogers all started for the visitors, with Adam Smith, Ben Pearson and Jaidon Anthony dropping to the bench.

The changes could not yield a positive result, with Parker describing Cherries' first-half display as "poor".

While he was pleased with the reaction after the break, the game ended goalless.

Asked if he felt the changes to his starting line-up affected the side's attacking fluidity, Parker told BBC Radio Solent: "I'm not sure.

"The games come thick and fast and I'm privileged enough to have the quality and depth in the squad that you need to mix up and keep things fresh.

"Of course, you change a winning team and the fluidness of what that brings, there's always a risk in that."

Cherries are back in action on Saturday, welcoming Sheffield United to Vitality Stadium (3pm).
