SCOTT Parker believes Cherries are in a "good place" after extending their unbeaten start to the league campaign to 10 matches.

Cherries were held to a 0-0 draw at Peterborough United on Wednesday night, and now sit second in the Championship table with 22 points, behind leaders West Bromwich Albion on goal difference.

It is only the second time in the club's history they have begun a season without defeat from their opening 10 matches, the other coming way back in the 1961-62 campaign under player-manager Bill McGarry.

Cherries started last season nine games unbeaten under Jason Tindall, before a defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Discussing the 10-match streak without defeat to start the 2021-22 campaign, boss Parker told BBC Radio Solent: "There's no denying that we're a little bit disappointed with the result (against Peterborough), because we felt like on the scale of things you probably want to come away here with a win, certainly from the second-half performance.

"But starting the season 10 unbeaten, we're in a good place.

"We need to maintain our levels, maintain our standards. These nights (like Wednesday), we need to learn from them in terms of the first half.

"We need to learn from that first-half display and why we were a bit passive at times. And we will do. We'll keep going."
