SCOTT Parker expressed his disappointment at Cherries' start to the game at Peterborough, as his side were held to a goalless draw.

Cherries missed the chance to go back top of the Championship, but did extend their unbeaten start to the campaign to 10 matches.

Discussing the 0-0 draw with Posh, boss Parker told BBC Radio Solent: "I thought we were poor in the first half to be honest.

"We played a lot of the game in front of them, we didn't really threaten or put them under much pressure.

"Got a reaction in the second half. I thought the team showed a real intent about us, missed some big chances.

"We were firmly playing the game in their half but didn't manage to get the goal we were searching for really.

"I think probably on the scale of things with the first-half performance where it was, it's difficult to then go and turn it like we had did. We did in saying that, but we would've wanted a better performance in the first half."

He added: "I just felt our intent and our mindset in the first half, it was a little bit tippy-tappy at times and we were a bit of a keep-ball team and played a lot of the game in front of them. Second half it was different and we need to stick with that.

"It wasn't our day today in front of goal. We missed some big chances and that can happen.

"We've been clinical up until today, but this is the Championship.

"There's going to be these dips or these bumps along the way. This team (Peterborough) have lost once here and that was a 94th-minute winner from West Brom. So it's a tough place to come. There's no denying that.

"Away from home they've not been great, but certainly at home they're a strong outfit. They're a disciplined team, narrow the spaces and it's difficult sometimes to play."

Cherries sit second in the division, behind leaders West Brom on goal difference, while Peterborough slipped into the relegation zone with the draw.
