SCOTT Parker praised a "bit of class" from Ryan Christie to carve out Cherries' opening goal against Luton.

The Scotland international, signed on deadline day from Scottish giants Celtic, impressed in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Hatters.

Christie played a key role in both goals, but his first in particular caught the eye.

From the edge of the box, the 26-year-old delicately clipped a ball over Hatters defence for Philip Billing to run on to. And the Dane did not have to break stride before calmly volleying home.

Christie then crossed for Dominic Solanke to double the advantage, with those two first-half efforts enough to clinch victory.

Discussing Christie's assist for Billing's opener, boss Parker told the Daily Echo: "Lovely assist. Nice bit of class in terms of a little flick, lovely finish from Phil.

"It was the little bit of class and craft you need in those tight areas in between the lines.

"We’re fortunate we’ve got players in those areas – (David) Brooks, Christie, Jaidon (Anthony), Phil at times.

"Players that can operate in real tight spaces between the lines.

"And then have the quality to then feed passes. He was very good at that.

"And then the second as well. Pleased with him, he’s done well."
