CHERRIES goalkeeper Neil Moss has welcomed the signing of his former Southampton team-mate Jo Tessem.

Moss spent three years at Saints with the Norwegian international and believes his arrival at Dean Court will provide Cherries with a major boost.

Tessem, signed by Dave Jones in 1999, made more than 100 Premier League appearances for Saints and also lined up in the 2003 FA Cup final against Arsenal.

Moss, who was on Saints' books between 1995 and 2002, said: "Jo is a really nice lad and a great bloke to have in the changing room.

"I'm sure he is going to be a great signing for us.

"He's as strong as an ox and could be a similar type of player as Marcus Browning was for us.

"We've got some really good ball players at this club but maybe what we've been missing is someone who's going to fly into challenges and really rough things up for us.

"I think Jo's got that in his locker and, on top of that, because he's played in the top flight, he can play a bit as well."
