HEAD coach Scott Parker insisted it was “possible” all Cherries’ centre-backs would remain at the club come the end of the summer transfer window.

The Dorset club currently have the likes of Lloyd Kelly, Steve Cook, Gary Cahill, Chris Mepham and Zeno Ibsen Rossi vying for a place in the heart of the back four.

Club stalwart Cook returned from a knee injury against Norwich in midweek, while former free agent Cahill could be involved at Hull City if deemed ready to feature.

Kelly and Ibsen Rossi have partnered each other in recent Championship games, with Mepham filling in as a makeshift right-back.

Asked how likely it was all his central defenders would remain at the club after the end of the window, Parker replied: “Possible, definitely possible.

“At the same time, while the window is open, there is also an opportunity of maybe that not being the case really.

“At this moment, it seems like that’s going to be the way. I’ve not seen or heard any different really.

“We have five centre-halves here, with Zeno as well. We will have to see over the last few days exactly how that transpires.”

The transfer window shuts for clubs on Tuesday (11pm).
