CHERRIES have accepted a bid of 25million Euros from Villarreal for winger Arnaut Danjuma, the Daily Echo understands.

The Europa League winners approached Cherries for the Dutchman earlier this summer, but saw their 15m Euro offer turned down.

However, they have now upped their bid to meet the asking price from Cherries, for the club's 2020-21 player of the season.

Danjuma was said to be desperate to make the switch and is now set to head to Spain in the coming hours to complete a medical.

Some reports suggest the Netherlands international has already agreed a five-year deal with Unai Emery's side, who are set to compete in this season's Champions League.

Following his £13.7million move from Club Brugge in 2019, Danjuma has made 52 appearances for Cherries, scoring 17 goals.

That included one in each leg of the Championship play-off semi-final defeat to Brentford in May.

Asked earlier this week if Danjuma will still be at the club next month, boss Scott Parker said: "I’m not sure. I can’t be certain in my answer in that.

"I want to be honest. So we’re not sure at this present moment in time.

"Until that window shuts really, that’s a question I think most weeks you could ask me and I’m probably going to say the same thing.

"Until this window shuts, I don’t really know either way.

"Look, we have a very good player at this football club, who we value a lot and we value at a certain price if someone wants to take him.

"Until that’s really met, he’s our player."

Discussing the rejected bid earlier in the summer, Parker added: "Villarreal was the club, I think that was documented."

Asked if they had come back in with an improved offer, the head coach continued: "No, not that I know of. To be fair, I don’t deal with that. So that’s where it is."
