BOSS Scott Parker revealed Junior Stanislas was withdrawn from his squad at the 11th hour against West Bromwich Albion due to a hamstring problem.

The Cherries winger was initially named on the bench for the clash with the Baggies at Vitality Stadium, during which Emiliano Marcondes and Philip Billing netted in a 2-2 draw.

But Parker confirmed Stanislas was replaced by youngster Ryan Glover in his matchday squad due to injury.

The boss told the Daily Echo: “He felt a bit of his hamstring in the warm-up, which was disappointing. Look, Junior has only been in for a couple of weeks with us.

“He just felt a little twinge in his hamstring. This is the first game of the season, a long, drawn-out season.

“I didn’t want to risk in anyway putting Junior on the bench, that moment I know I will be looking back wanting him to come on at that moment.

“I didn’t want to risk that or risk that he comes on and does more damage, or certainly something goes bigger and we miss him for longer.

“Hopefully we have just caught it at the right time and it will settle down. We will make an assessment on that.”

Stanislas re-signed for Cherries under Parker last month and featured for 24 minutes of last Saturday’s 5-0 Carabao Cup victory over MK Dons.
