AFC BOURNEMOUTH have the highest average adult season ticket prices in the English Football League, while boasting a 95 per cent renewal rate.

The Cherries, who finished sixth in the Championship last season, have an average price of £634 per adult season ticket.

Fulham, whose previous manager Scott Parker left to join Bournemouth in June, are second highest with an average of £576 per adult ticket.

A spokesperson from AFC Bournemouth told the Daily Echo: "This average figure doesn’t take into account the fact that as a club we haven’t raised our ticket prices for six years at Vitality Stadium, including our post-Premier League Championship seasons which have four extra home games – increasing the discount season ticket holders receive on a game-by-game basis.

“The lack of price increase was something that senior club staff were very keen to implement, shown in particular with the lack of increase in the five years playing in the Premier League.

“Across those years, our supporters have shown great loyalty when it comes to renewing their season tickets.

“We’ve had a renewal rate of between 98-99 per cent and in the more recent climate of Covid-19, we’ve had a renewal rate of over 95 per cent.

“That support has been massively appreciated and we are aiming to continue the growth of our fanbase.

“One of the examples of this is with our Junior Cherries scheme, which costs just £7.50 for the season and entitles children under the age of eight to free tickets to Vitality Stadium, and members over the age of eight can watch live football for as little as £6 for home games.

“We also have competitive prices for concession season tickets and feel that we offer good value for money for all supporters – not just adults – for 23 home games across the season.”

A spokesperson from the Cherries Trust Board said: "As the independent representative supporters’ group we take a keen interest in ticketing and benchmarking to ensure match attendance is accessible and affordable.

"Whilst the range of full price season tickets may be high compared with others in the Championship, our experience is that concessionary season tickets, such as for children or wheelchair users, remain far more competitively priced than at other similar clubs.

"We always welcome feedback from supporters where there are constructive comments on such matters to raise in our regular dialogue with the Club."

AFC Bournemouth host West Bromwich Albion at Dean Court in their opening fixture of the 2021/22 season on Friday, August 6 at 7:45pm which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
