CHERRIES have agreed a season-long loan deal with Newcastle for goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, but the move remains in the balance due to a foot injury to Martin Dubravka.
The Daily Echo understands 24-year-old stopper Woodman has agreed terms with the Dorset outfit.
He had been set to fly out to Spain to join Scott Parker’s squad training in Marbella.
But the deal has been stalled due to the injury sustained by Newcastle keeper Dubravka, who is reportedly set to see a consultant.
Should Woodman arrive at Cherries, he would provide competition for the likes of Asmir Begovic, Mark Travers and Will Dennis.
Travers and Dennis are currently in Marbella for the club’s pre-season training camp, while Begovic is back in the UK recovering from a hip-flexor injury.
But what did Cherries’ fans make of the possible arrival of Woodman? We asked for views on Twitter.
If #afcb are enticing new keepers in then Travers has to go out on loan. His development is being massively stunted as a benchwarmer.

Excellent business. Shame its only a loan, do we know if its with a view or obligation depending on shifting Begovic?

He’s got enormous shoes to fill (literally & figuratively).

Our best player in the last 2 seasons has been our keeper.
I’d be gutted to see Begs leave but if it has to happen for budget reasons then so be it.
Tbh, @Neil_Moss1975 may be our biggest loss in the GK department
Seems like Franno & Hughes are working overtime!

Big fan of Woodman. Unfortunately that will mean Begovic leaving, hopefully we can secure a decent fee for him.
Gutted it doesn’t seem to be happening. Buzzing if it does which doesn’t seem likely
