ADAM Smith has decided to extend his stay at Cherries by putting pen-to-paper on a fresh two-year contract.
The defender had been a free agent after his deal expired at the end of June.
Cherries continued talks with Smith's representatives and an agreement has now been struck for the 30-year-old.
Including a loan spell during the 2010-11 season, Smith has played 284 games for Cherries.
The Londoner returned on a permanent basis in January 2014, signing from Tottenham, and went on to help the club seal promotion into the Premier League, where he became a regular starter.
Smith has scored six goals for Cherries, most recently in a 4-2 win over Leicester City in 2018.
He will now join up with Cherries for their pre-season tour in Spain, flying out with the rest of the squad tomorrow.
Cherries are still in negotiations with Junior Stanislas over the possibility of a new deal, after he, like Smith, became a free agent at the end of June.
