PREMIER League side Watford have announced the signing of former Cherries striker Joshua King.

The Norwegian international departed the Vitality Stadium and joined Everton for a nominal fee on winter deadline day last season, when his contract had run down to its final few months.

The newly-promoted side have tied the 29-year-old forward up to a two-year deal, with the option for a further year, following his Everton departure after just a six-month stint.

King scored 48 Premier League goals in 171 appearances for Cherries, but failed to register in any of his 12 Championship matches before moving – or in 11 for top division Everton last term.

Just last year, King was the target of his former club and footballing giants Manchester United, but the proposed deal was rejected by the relegated Cherries.

King had earlier claimed he had “difficult understanding” why the club rejected the proposals, with him being keen to return to Old Trafford.

He has got himself a Premier League move again, though, despite failing to score once in the 2020-21 campaign.
