PROMOTER Danny Ford insisted Pirates would be flexible over their team boss arrangements this season and were in “constant dialogue” with Neil Middleditch and Gary Havelock.

Havelock was announced as joint team manager alongside long-serving Middleditch last season, before the 2020 campaign was wiped out due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Asked how this season’s arrangements would work, Ford told the Daily Echo: “I think it will be more known in the lead up to events.

“Once everything is a bit closer, we will know specifically how far up the country Middlo is willing to go.

“He is running his own business now, which I’m led to believe is doing really well.

“Ultimately that’s got to take priority at this time for him because people need money coming through the door at the minute.

“We are in constant dialogue with Havvy and Middlo. Havvy is more than willing to do every meeting, travelling down from near Middlesbrough.

“We will have at least one of them at every meeting. Once things are a little bit clearer, we will be able to confirm who will be leading the Pirates into each and every meeting.”
