NORWICH playmaker Emi Buendia joked his team’s 3-1 defeat to Cherries was “probably the best loss in my life” – after the Canaries had already been promoted to the Premier League.
The Argentine and his team-mates had already secured a return to the top flight without kicking a ball earlier in the day on Saturday, with Brentford and Swansea both unable to win their respective contests.
Buendia struck the opener after five minutes for Daniel Farke’s side at Carrow Road but after Dimitris Giannoulis was sent off, Cherries sealed a 3-1 victory.
That did not stop the Canaries celebrating promotion on the pitch post-match, however.
“It’s amazing," Buendia said.
"It was a really tough season for everyone but we achieved this and to get promoted again is brilliant for everyone.
“I think it is probably the best loss in my life!”
