MERLEY Cobham Sports overcame a nightmare start to make it two wins from two in the Dorset Premier Supplementary Cup, with a thumping 7-2 win against Bournemouth Sports.

Bournemouth took the lead at Chapel Gate via a set piece, before Merley were forced into two early substitutions with Lewis Mills and Ellis George forced off injured, the latter taken to hospital having suffered a fractured cheekbone.

When play resumed, Cobham get into their rhythm, soon equalising courtesy of Joe Wickham.

Wickham was on hand to turn the game on its head, following up after Asa Phillips had struck the crossbar.

Callum Perry put the visitors 3-1 ahead by half-time.

The goals continued to flow after the restart with Phillips on target before Wickham completed his hat-trick.

Bournemouth pulled one back, but late strikes from Phillips and Lee Wilkins rounded off the resounding win.
