HEAD coach Jonathan Woodgate insisted Cherries would be in for a “difficult” test as they look to end flying Barnsley’s unbeaten Championship run.

The Dorset club are looking to overcome a Tykes outfit who have not lost in 10 league outings.

Boss Valerien Ismael had piloted Barnsley to seven straight wins before a goalless stalemate at Derby last time out on Wednesday.

Asked about the visitors for tomorrow’s clash at Vitality Stadium, Woodgate said: “It’s a fantastic achievement. He has done really well since he’s been there.

“He has changed the style of play. They are difficult to beat, they are really direct, they press high.

“Like in every Championship game, it’s going to be really difficult.”

With no midweek game, Cherries have had more time to prepare than the Oakwell outfit.

Asked whether that gave an advantage to his troops, Woodgate replied: “It does with preparation, I’d definitely say that – with tiredness a third game in a week is definitely difficult.

“But they are riding high at the minute. Their players will be full of confidence.”

Victory would take Cherries back into the play-off places.
