HEAD coach Jonathan Woodgate confirmed David Brooks would not be back in action before the international break but is “pleased” with how the Cherries star is progressing.
The Wales international has been sidelined with an ankle problem, which has kept him out of the Dorset club’s past five league games.
But Woodgate confirmed Brooks had been back running with the club’s physios.
Asked about the Warrington-born ace’s progress, the Cherries boss said: “Brooksy, hopefully after the international break, fingers crossed.
“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but I’ve seen him out running.
“His last injury took a bit longer maybe. It was a different type injury, a different ankle.
“But I’m pleased how he’s going. He’s doing well and looking good in the running he’s doing with the physios and sports scientists.”
Woodgate is however set to have Philip Billing back available against Barnsley tomorrow, after a groin problem kept him out against Preston last weekend.
“Billing trained on Wednesday and yesterday – he also trained today so he’s fine as well,” said Woodgate.
Full-back Diego Rico is set to return next week from his injury issue.
