JONATHAN Woodgate revealed Cherries striker Sam Surridge was set to go for an x-ray after doing damage to his toe.
The England under-21 international was not included in the matchday squad for Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Watford at Vitality Stadium.
And Woodgate revealed the 22-year-old could not even get a boot on when giving the full extent of the injury.
Asked why Surridge was left out of the squad to play the Hornets, Woodgate told the Daily Echo: “He’s picked up a knock on his toe. I think it’s his big toe.
“They are going to get an x-ray on it, so we will see how it is.
“It’s quite swollen and he couldn’t get a boot on.”
Surridge has played 21 times for Cherries in the Championship this season, scoring against the likes of Preston, Barnsley and Huddersfield.
He played 90 minutes in a 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff on Wednesday.
