SCORER Sam Surridge insisted it would be a “special occasion” when Cherries feature in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
The club academy graduate netted the first of two strikes to overcome Burnley 2-0 in the fifth round at Turf Moor and book the Dorset club’s place in the last eight for the first time in 64 years.
Asked what it was like to reach round six for just the second time in club history, Surridge replied: “Yeah it’s crazy isn’t it really.
“Once we get to the quarter-finals it will be a special occasion.”
Junior Stanislas found the net from the penalty spot late on for Cherries, as they put their name in the hat for Thursday’s draw.
“It was a good feeling when the ball went in,” said Surridge when speaking about his goal.
“It was a hard game, we ground it out and we have come here and done the job.
“In the first half I thought we looked the better team in spells. Once we got that first goal we were comfortable and Asmir (Begovic) didn’t have a lot to do.
“We did look a threat going forward. It was a hard one but it was pleasing.”
