CARETAKER boss Jonathan Woodgate insisted Cherries’ staff would give it “everything we’ve got” if they are still in charge at Nottingham Forest.

The 41-year-old has sealed back-to-back wins over Birmingham and Burnley in his first two games, since temporarily taking over after the sacking of Jason Tindall.

He admitted after Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over the Clarets he had “no idea” whether he would still be at the helm for Saturday’s showdown at the City Ground.

But the former England international insisted that did not stop him preparing for the challenge, in case he was called upon once again by Cherries’ board.

Asked whether he could take any time to enjoy victory over Burnley, Woodgate told the Daily Echo: “I love winning games and that’s the most important thing for the football club moving forward.

“You can’t really enjoy a win that much, to be honest with you. I’ll be on the bus watching another game to try to prepare for – if I’m told to prepare for it.

“You’ve got to be prepared and that’s what we have been over the two games, so I think it’s important to do that again.

“If we are in charge for the Forest game, we will give it everything we’ve got.”

Success over Sean Dyche’s side paved the way for Cherries to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1957.

“We put out a strong team and we came here to win the game,” added Woodgate. “It’s the second time in Bournemouth’s history they have done that - so it’s good.”
