DOMINIC Solanke could be set for a spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

The striker was forced off against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night due to the problem and looks like facing up to some time on the sidelines.

Solanke had featured in all of Cherries' Championship matches this term before missing this afternoon's visit of Birmingham City.

He is the club's top goalscorer this season with 10 goals so far.

Asked for an update on Solanke's fitness, caretaker boss Jonathan Woodgate told the Daily Echo: "I don’t think Dom is looking too clever to be honest with you. I think it could be a bit of time.

"That happened on Tuesday in the Sheffield Wednesday game. It doesn’t look too good. We’re not 100 per cent sure yet, but at the minute it doesn’t look too good.

"So there’s your top scorer at the minute out the game for a bit.

"I think it’s an ankle ligament, I don’t know which one, but it’s not looking too clever for him."
