OLDHAM Athletic will not receive any home comforts at Vitality Stadium tomorrow, despite being drawn as the home team in this season's FA Cup third-round tie.

The Latics were due to host Cherries at Boundary Park tomorrow afternoon.

However, it was announced last night that the game has been switched to take place at Vitality Stadium (3pm), due to concerns over Oldham's pitch being unplayable and to avoid any risk of the game being postponed.

And now that both clubs as well as the FA have agreed, the Daily Echo understands the match will now be officially classed as a Cherries home fixture, rather than Oldham retaining any sort of 'home' advantage on the day.

As such, it is understood the Latics will take the away dressing room at Vitality Stadium, with everything else remaining in place as if it were a normal Cherries home game.

A statement on the switch of fixture from Oldham read: "If the fixture remained at Boundary Park it would have been in jeopardy and potentially had financial penalties alongside impacting on the club’s participation in the competition.

"The decision is supported by both clubs and in the current climate with the fixture being behind-closed-doors, this is the most logical option to ensure the fixture is played to a natural conclusion."
