JASON Tindall was left bemused by the decision not to award Cherries a spot-kick against Swansea City, insisting: "It was an obvious penalty."

The key moment came during the second half when David Brooks went down under a challenge from defender Joel Latibeaudiere in the box.

However, referee Peter Bankes was unmoved and the sides went on to draw the game 0-0.

Quizzed on his thoughts of that decision, Tindall said: "I probably think the same as everybody here. At the time I thought it was a stonewall penalty. Having seen it back a couple of times, I still think the same thing.

"I think it was an obvious penalty. Even their bench thought the same when they reviewed back their iPad on the bench they were saying it was a penalty.

"So I think that tells you everything. So really frustrated that that type of decision didn’t go for us, but really pleased with my team’s performance, I felt we were excellent."

The pitch at Liberty Stadium also raised some eyebrows, with large areas of bare turf on a surface which is shared by Swansea City and rugby union side Ospreys.

"I’m not sure if it had an impact on the game," said Tindall.

"You can see it, it’s not a good pitch. There’s no nice way of putting it. It’s in poor condition.

"I think the Swansea guys train on it quite often. With the rugby and football added to that, I think that’s the way it is.

"It’s not what you expect, certainly at a club like this, but it is what it is and I felt we handled the conditions extremely well."

One big positive Tindall can draw from the stalemate is a second consecutive clean sheet on the road, having waited almost a year for one before the victory at Barnsley on Friday.

"We’ve had two good performances on the road against two really tough Championship sides," said Tindall.

"The 4-0 result against Barnsley and then again a convincing performance against a good Swansea side - delighted with our overall performances as a team.

"You always want clean sheets in games. We got another one at a difficult place, we’ve just got to dust ourselves down now and get ourselves ready for the weekend."

Cherries host Huddersfield Town on Saturday (3pm).
