CAMERON Carter-Vickers' wait for his Cherries debut is set to drag on after the defender was struck down with an ankle injury.

The USA international is yet to make a matchday squad for his new club since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Carter-Vickers, 22, had been working hard to build up his fitness having not played competitively since featuring for Luton Town against Blackburn in July, during a temporary spell with the Hatters.

Following a rule change within the EFL, Cherries were allowed to name nine substitutes on the bench instead of seven for the first time this season for Saturday's Championship game against Reading.

But centre-back Carter-Vickers was still not involved.

"Unfortunately Cameron rolled his ankle in the week," Tindall revealed to the Daily Echo.

"Unfortunately, especially when there’s now nine subs and he would’ve been involved, he picked up an injury where he rolled his ankle and I think he will out for a few weeks."
