DORSET star Georgia Hall was left to suffer play-off agony as she squandered her advantage to finish second at the Saudi Ladies International.

The 24-year-old, who now resides near Parkstone, had led throughout the back nine during regulation play at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.

Having laid up on the par-five 18th hole, Hall saw her putt for the title narrowly miss – meaning she went into a play-off with Denmark’s, Emily Pedersen having finished 10 under par for the tournament.

And the final hole again proved to be the former Canford Kid’s nemesis, having hit her second shot into the water to dash her hopes of success.

Pedersen went on to make birdie and seal the title.

Hall told the Ladies European Tour website: “I played well today, and it was certainly windier than yesterday. It was just a shame my putt on 18 didn’t go in.

“Emily hit an amazing shot on the last hole in regulation and it was very brave.

“I’m really pleased for her as she’s a really nice girl and she hit a fantastic chip (in the playoff) and that’s where I lost it.”
