JASON Tindall wants Cherries’ shock 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday to be a “lesson” to his side and added: “We can’t rely on our ability.”
A converted Barry Bannan penalty paved the way for the Owls to seal a surprise victory at Hillsborough – after Steve Cook was sent off for bringing down Josh Windass in the box.
It was Tindall’s first league defeat as Cherries boss, having taken the job back in August.
Asked how he dealt with the setback as a manager, the 42-year-old replied: “Just being honest. That’s all I can do.”
He added: “You have to show heart, you have to show desire, you have to show a real work-ethic to get anything in football. That goes without saying.
“Hopefully that might have been a good game for us when we reflect back and I think it might be a good lesson that we can’t rely on our ability.
“We have to come out there and we have to perform. We have work hard for each other to get any kind of result in this division.”
Cherries have picked up 17 points from their opening 10 games in the division.
They make the trip to face Birmingham at St Andrew’s on Saturday (3pm).
