MANAGER Jason Tindall revealed midfielder Jefferson Lerma has a chance to feature at Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow – but is set to be further assessed.

The Colombian has not featured since coming off with a hamstring injury after 18 minutes at Watford last month.

Lerma has since missed games against Bristol City and Derby since sustaining the problem – but has been doing work on the training ground in a bid to get back involved.

Asked for an update on the former Levante man, Tindall told the Daily Echo: “Jeff’s got a chance. Jeff’s been good.

“On the training ground on Saturday he went out there and felt good, we will see how he is and it will be a late call to see whether he is available to be involved on Tuesday – or whether that might be a day or two too soon.”

Cherries have yet to hand a place in their matchday squad to new central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, since his deadline day loan move from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old United States international has been getting up to speed with Tindall’s squad in recent weeks.

“I’ve been really pleased with the work we’ve been able to get into Cam,” said the Cherries boss.

“Coming in so late in the window it was important that he did some good work on the training ground to know what’s expected and how we play.

“I have been really pleased with him so far and he’s certainly getting to a place where I feel he is ready to be involved.

“But we need to make sure when he is involved, he stays there - and he is competing with a good squad.”
