MANAGER Jason Tindall insisted he would not be rushed to bring in players ahead of the upcoming transfer deadlines and added: “It’s not a numbers game.”

Cherries last week secured their first fresh recruit of the summer, bringing in young Spanish winger Rodrigo Riquelme on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.

Should the Dorset club wish to recruit again from abroad in this window, any deals would have to be confirmed by 11pm tomorrow.

An extra period has been allowed to take place for domestic deals between the Premier League and Football League up until Friday, October 16.

Asked whether he had been hopeful of any more signings before Monday’s first deadline day, Tindall told the Daily Echo: “The window is still open for us after Monday. We’re never in any rush to bring in any players.

“It’s not a numbers game, it’s about bringing in players that have got the quality to make the squad and the team better.

“If that’s possible then we’ll look to do it, if it’s not you see with a number of quality players that we had missing on Friday, we still came out and delivered a really solid performance.”

Striker Joshua King missed Friday night’s contest against the Sky Blues after reporting ill with a migraine.

The frontman has been heavily linked with a move away from Vitality Stadium this summer – with the likes of Torino and AC Milan from overseas, as well as a number of Premier League sides linked with the Oslo-born star.

Asked whether he expected the former Manchester United man to be part of Cherries’ squad after the window closes, Tindall replied: “Yeah, anyone that’s contracted to the football club I’m expecting to be here, unless anyone tells me different or if something happens that will be assessed by the club.

“But I’m certainly expecting him to be here and looking forward to having him here.”
