SCOTT Mitchell's wait for a second win in the PDC Autumn Series goes on after being edged out by Steve Beaton.

Scotty Dog received an invite to the event in Niedernhausen, Germany due to several tour players withdrawing.

Taking place as five separate competitions over five days, Mitchell made a winning start on Saturday by defeating Brian Raman before losing out 6-5 to Premier League star Gerwyn Price.

Bransgore ace Mitchell then suffered a first-round exit the following day, beaten 6-4 by 'The Demolition Man' Darren Webster.

Monday fared no better for Scotty Dog as he produced a below-par display in his 6-3 defeat to Hong Kong ace Kai Fan Leung.

Mitchell put in one of his best performances of the week today against legend Beaton.

In the battle of the Lakeside champions, Mitchell battled back from 4-1 down to lead 5-4.

But despite ending with a match average of 101.1, the Dorset star slipped to a 6-5 defeat.

Mitchell has one final chance of Autumn Series success in the final day of action tomorrow.

Overall event winners so far have included world champion Peter Wright and world number one Michael van Gerwen.
