FORMER Cherries winger Jordon Ibe is close to joining Derby County, according to reports.

The 24-year-old left Cherries when his contract expired in June, making him available on a free transfer.

Having arrived on the south coast from Liverpool for around £13million in 2016, a club-record fee at the time, Ibe fell out of favour and featured just four times last season.

He left having played 92 times for Cherries, netting five goals. His final outing for the first team came in a Carabao Cup defeat at Burton Albion in September 2019.

Football Insider this morning reported Ibe was undergoing a medical with the Championship Rams, ahead of a potential return to the club he spent part of the 2014-15 season on loan at.

The Derby Telegraph added how the club looked to snap up Ibe from Cherries last summer, but were told he was unavailable for a loan move.
