CHERRIES are still unsure whether Asmir Begovic will be fit to face Crystal Palace tomorrow.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina international missed Saturday's Championship opener with Blackburn due to a dead leg, suffered following a clash with defender Chris Mepham in training.

Begovic, who joined Cherries for £10million from Chelsea in 2017, featured in the pre-season defeat at Benfica last month before heading on international duty.

But the goalkeeper has not played a competitive match for the club since April 2019, instead spending time out on loan at FK Qarabag and AC Milan last season.

Asked if the 33-year-old could return between the sticks against the Eagles, boss Jason Tindall told the Daily Echo: "Asmir was in very early this morning to see the physios in the medical department so they will be assessing him this morning.

"That’s one that, depending how he comes through today, if he’s still struggling or not, (we'll see) whether he’ll be in contention for tomorrow."
