JOSHUA King is set to return to Cherries training tomorrow, with boss Jason Tindall adding: "He's looking forward to coming back."

King has not been with the club since the end of the 2019-20 season, missing all of pre-season and the opening-day Championship win over Blackburn Rovers.

The striker was granted extra time to stay in Norway to train last month, rather than increase any coronavirus risk by taking multiple flights before having to return to Oslo for international duty.

The 28-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Vitality Stadium during this transfer window, featured twice for Norway in the Nations League, playing 83 minutes across games against Austria and Northern Ireland earlier this month.

Tindall says King "picked up a little knock" during his time with Norway and has been receiving treatment in his home country.

But the former Manchester United man is set to return to Dorset this week.

Tindall told the Daily Echo: "Kingy will be back tomorrow and ready to train and be in contention hopefully for the weekend (against Middlesbrough), depending on how his injury is from international duty.

"I spoke to Kingy yesterday on the phone. He’s looking forward to coming back and I’m really looking forward to having him back."
